Biography

    Gulnara Zhadrina started her career in 1984 as a secondary school Chemistry and Biology teacher, Almaty region.

1993-1996 – junior research associate at Chemistry and Biology laboratory, Kazakh Institute of Education named after I. Altynsarin.. 1996-1999 –postgraduate education in Kazakh Institute of Education named after I. Altynsarin.. 1999 – 2001 – research associate, Professional Education Institute, Kazakh Academy of Education named after I. Altynsarin. 2001 – 2005 – senior research associate, Textbook Author School RGC, Mektep publishing house. She had worked as a head of Research and methodological department for 6 years in Taimas publishing house LLP. 2014-2016 – head of Content development department in Educational Resource Centre PE.

Gulnara Zhadrina has been working in the Centre for Educational Programmes since July 1, 2016, and in Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO – since 2012.

She supervised textbooks developed in accordance with the Integrated Educational Programme (NIS-Programme) for primary and secondary schools.

She is also an author of textbooks and workbooks for My Environment, Grade 1, and Environment, Grade 2, Chemistry tests, methodical guidelines, Chemistry tasks, and more than 10 publications in journals and conference proceedings.

Projects:

  • Development of test tasks in Chemistry for high school graduates (Republican Testing Center, 1998).
  • Language Immersion Project (Innove Centre, Estonia, 2012-2014).
  • Development of primary school textbooks (Cambridge University Press, CEP, 2014-2018).

Development of secondary school textbooks (UCL Institute of Education, CEP, 2015-2017).

Education

1984 – degree in Teaching Chemistry and Biology, Kazakh Pedagogical Institute of the Order of the Red Banner of Labour named after Abay (Almaty).

1999 – postgraduate education, Kazakh Institute of Education named after I. Altynsarin (Almaty).

Key responsibilities of the Editorial department include editing, proofreading and getting textbooks and learning materials in Kazakh and Russian ready for printing.

Staff members of the department edit and proofread NIS annual reports, reports on the results of participation in international research projects and other materials developed by the Centre.
