Zukhra Shegenova

Zukhra Shegenova is Deputy Director of the Centre for Educational Programmes in charge of the NIS experience dissemination.

In 2004 she received a bachelor’s degree in History from Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, and in 2011 – a Master of Humanities. She is pursuing doctoral studies in Pedagogy and Psychology at Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

She started her teaching career at the Y. Altynsarin boarding school No. 3 for gifted children in Pavlodar, and a history teacher at “Zerde” school for gifted children in Nur-Sultan. In 2012, she started working as a senior manager at the Centre for Educational Programmes.

While working in this organisation, she was a member of the project group for curriculum and textbook development in historical disciplines in the context of education content reform in Kazakhstan. As a member of the working group on OECD Education 2030 project, she was involved in curriculum content mapping exercise, the study of concept-based learning.
