From April 21 to 29, 2025, the “Center for Educational Programs,” a branch of the autonomous organization “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools,” facilitated subject-specific professional development seminars for teachers of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Art, and Music.
These seminars were held at the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools of Physics and Mathematics in Almaty and Astana, as well as the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools of Chemistry and Biology in Pavlodar, Shymkent, and Atyrau. The focus of the seminars was the advancement of students’ research competencies through subject-specific content, aligning with the overarching goals of the project.
Throughout the sessions, subject matter experts engaged in the exchange of professional experience, presenting effective pedagogical strategies and actively implemented teaching methodologies. The seminars concluded with reflective discussions on shared practices and collective outcomes. Participants emphasized the substantial practical value of the acquired knowledge and affirmed their commitment to integrating innovative pedagogical approaches into their instructional practices.
Teachers engaged in laboratory and practical activities aligned with the research-focused theme of the seminars, developed a range of creative project proposals, and presented their outcomes to fellow educators for peer review and discussion. Upon conclusion of the two-day seminars, participants offered constructive and positive feedback, demonstrating a high level of engagement and professional interest. They reflected on the experience by sharing insightful observations and affirming the value of such initiatives, underscoring the importance of continuing similar professional development opportunities in the future.
