Zhanar Abdildina

Director of Centre for Educational Programmes

Zhanar Abdildina worked as a Chemistry teacher at gymnasium school №4 in Ekibastuz, a Physics and Chemistry teacher and a director of Komarov school in Shantobe, and a head of Education Department in Stepnogorsk.

In 2009–2012, Zhanar Abdildina was a director of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Kokshetau.

Since February, 2012, she has been a director of the Centre for Educational Programmes affiliated with Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO.

In 2003, she was elected as a deputy of the city maslikhat in Stepnogorsk.

Zhanar Abdildina was awarded two fellowships of Soros International Foundation between 2003 and 2006.

             In December, 2011, she was one of the official delegates representing Akmola oblast in Astana at special events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence.

Zhanar Abdildina attended national and international seminars and trainings: School Leadership and Management (Pennsylvania University, USA); Modern Requirements to Science Education, Integrated Approaches to Teaching, International Baccalaureate Practices and Approaches to Teaching Chemistry, Introduction to Competency-based Education, Developing Child Creativity in Science, New Approaches to Teaching Foreign Languages​​, Developing Training Skills, High-quality Management, Developing Teacher Competence in Innovative Schools of Kazakhstan and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools Management Group Development Programme. She is certified by the European Coach Federation.

Zhanar Abdildina is an active participant and speaker at the annual international conferences of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO:

1) 2013 – report on “Implementation of Integrated Educational Programme in NIS as an innovative secondary education model”, V International Research-to-Practice Conference “Excellence and Leadership in Education”;

2) 2014 – report on “Comparability of Integrated Educational Programme with internationally recognised curricula”, VI International Research-to-Practice Conference “Education Policy, Practice and Research” ;

3) 2016 – report on “Pre-school education and care: introducing innovations and preserving traditions”, VIII International Research-to-Practice Conference “Taking Change to Scale in Education: Piloting and Dissemination”;

4) 2018 – report on “Renewed standards of secondary education through the lens of OECD ideas”, X International Research-to-Practice Conference “Next Generation Schools”.

Zhanar Abdildina is a member of the working group in the OECD project “The Future of Education and Skills: Education 2030” aimed to discuss the content of education and a co-author of the OECD Position Paper “The Future of Education and Skills: Education 2030. The Future We Want”, 2018.

She is also an author of the article “Educational innovations in Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools”, Education. Scientific and pedagogical journal. №1 (64), Astana, 2013; co-author of the article “Trilingual Education in Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” and materials designed for the round table discussion “State and ethnic languages in Kazakhstan: now and ways forward”, Astana, 2015.
