International Conference “Cambridge and trends in learning and assessment of language competences (English) in the Republic of Kazakhstan”

 

International Conference “Cambridge and trends in learning and assessment of language competence (English) in the Republic of Kazakhstan” was held in Shymkent on 23 November, 2018.

Senior manager of the Center, Samat Kalmenov, delivered a speech on the peculiarities of “Content and language integrated learning” (CLIL) in Intellectual schools. The report focused on the role of the CLIL teacher in the process of shaping and assessing both subject knowledge and skills and language skills of students. It also highlighted the principles of resource selection.

The conference was attended by representatives of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, school principals, heads of education departments and methodical associations of English teachers, university teachers, representatives of Cambridge University Press, Cambridge English Assessment and educational organizations of the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan.
